Additional Info for St Ives photography retreat
To the Lighthouse’ photography retreat was born out of the idea that St Ives holds a little bit of magic within it’s winding streets, coastal views, art history and amazing light, and that sharing time with a group of like minded photographers here will lead to something very special. Pull up a chair at our table in the beachside cottage overlooking the beach to St Ives Bay. There’s a warm hello for you, and of course some scones with cream and jam, and as much tea as you can drink.
A long weekend in a beachside cottage overlooking St Ives bay. Explore this part of Cornwall with a small group of photographers and leave feeling rested, grounded and inspired. Our weekend has been made to offer a sense of curiosity, connection and calm and help you to make time and space to reconnect with your creativity and your photography. We’d love to share it with you.
Our guest host is Rebecca Douglas who will be leading sessions getting up at dawn to find the sunrise as well as capturing the shoreline sky at night.
St Ives has been the muse of Alexa Loy for many years – she has visited more times than she can count and has many hours spent exploring, looking, photographing, drawing and spent time pouring over books about the rich art history of the town. She will be leading a photo walk wandering the back streets of St Ives and a beach drawing session to encourage mindful photography.
Alexa and Rebecca will be on hand all weekend to talk all things photography – the retreat is suitable from beginner to established professional – it’s all about connecting with the landscape and making the weekend your own.
